James Ellwanger

 Tick, Pulse, Tock was installed and dedicated in 2015 at the historic 300 MLK building in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.  The 20-foot LED light sculpture was created through a partnership between Ellwanger and Philips Lighting.  The piece represents the "in between" of time and the responsibility of each generation to use these moments to secure civil rights for all citizens.  Tick, Pulse, Tock emphasizes the time between the seconds, as society is always engaged in one fluid and unstoppable motion forward.
