James Ellwanger's working studio is located in the heart of downtown Des Moines in the Western Gateway District. He began his career in 1999 with a series of wall pieces featuring compositions of aluminum and aviation paint. More recently, he has become widely known for his large-scale metal sculptures. He has produced works for public, private, corporate and museum collections.
